Usher in Christmas in style with a beautiful wreath on the front door. Fresh mistletoe if you can find it. Take your bowls out and fill them up with colourful fruits or just apples; add another bowl with nuts and pinecones. I like tradition with a twist – instead of the usual decorations, you can tie up a big bunch of cinnamon with a beautiful ribbon. 在前門放上美麗花環於聖誕期間讓家居時刻保持時尚。可行的話請找點新鮮 的槲寄生。拿出碗子放滿各式生果或只放蘋果,再放一大碗果仁和松果與胡 桃夾子。我喜愛在傳統上加點新玩意,又或只簡單用絲帶包起一大批肉桂。
Christmas at Sevva this year will be quite monochromatic. The past two years have been very colourful, so I went with a different mood this time around. I decided to go for black and white fabrics with interesting designs, which I commissioned in Sydney and South Africa. I plan to accessorise with lots of faux fur in white and neutral tones. Our tree will be gold this year with lots of white and gold or- naments – I wanted it to look rich but in harmony with all the gold gift lines I created for Sevva Home. 今年聖誕Sevva會走較素色的路線。過去兩年Sevva都是如此色彩繽紛,所 以今次想來點不同的設計。我決定選用設計有趣的黑白布藝,專誠在悉尼 和南非訂製,並加上白和中性色澤的大量仿皮草裝飾。今年會採用金色聖 誕樹,並加上大量白和金色的飾品。我希望它能夠顯得豐富的同時,仍能 與我為Sevva Home打造的金色禮品系列和諧配搭。
My best tip is to stay organised and set up an inventory of all your existing things. Look through old decor to see what can be used again and create a list of what to buy to update the look. I start organising Christmas by late August – it just gets earlier and earlier these days! 今個節日我的最佳貼士就是保持整潔有序,把已有的東西好好收藏。看看 有哪些東西可在今年重用,又或者買些甚麼用來翻新以往數年的舊作。八 月尾開始我便為聖誕作準備,愈來愈早提前預備呢!
Christmas parties should be festive and abundant. I love setting the table with little presents for every one of my guests to celebrate the season of giving. Also, it’s very important to set the mood by playing the right music. 聖誕派對應該充滿節慶氣氛和豐富多彩。我喜愛為各人準備小禮物裝飾餐 桌,慶祝聖誕。適當的氣氛和音樂是重要一環。
Go for detailed touches that are interesting to open up conversa- tions and to help your guests relax. Introduce your friends to each other or play a fun game involving everyone, where each guest can say a few lines introducing themselves to break the ice. 大走精密而又滿有趣味的細緻點綴,能打開說話匣子又能讓客人放鬆。介 紹客人互相認識,又或一大伙兒玩遊戲,讓大家簡單自我介紹,有利破冰。
Throwing a great party is like being a conductor in an orches- tra, everything should be harmonised without letting anything, like sound or lighting, stand out obtrusively. The host should make sure all the small details are well taken care of; everything should seem effortless even if you’ve been pouring over and planning the party for days. 主持派對好比管弦樂隊的指揮,必要確保音色和燈光等一切和諧。主持人要 小心照顧所有細節,即使已奔波多天,仍要讓每事看來好像輕易辦妥般。
